Position Summary:

The Manager of Residential Services is primarily  accountable for ensuring  the timely and effective implementation of all plans relevant to each individual’s plan of care.  This involves a high level of pro-activeness and involvement in day to day operations of the programs. This role is to be performed in a cooperative and open environment, ensuring the provision of daily support and instruction to house managers and support staff in a manner that nurtures the self-determination, personal growth and the positive self-identity of all. The Manager of Residential Services is considered to be a professional leader and part of the PCSL management team. The Manager of Residential Services acts as a direct bridge between the Executive Director and all programs.

Critical to the success of the role is ongoing and effective goal focused communication with all those involved in the individual’s support team, as well as the community at large. A strong presence and the ability to advocate is essential.

The role includes the requirement to work in a stressful environment often dealing with individuals in crisis situations.  Managing emergency situations is an ongoing expectation.

Evening and/or weekend work may be required.

Requirements:

Education & Background:

  • Degree in  Social Services or related field. 
  • 1-3 years previous work in a similar environment
  • Experience in team management
  • Knowledge/Experience with resources and wrap around services related to Social Service field.
  • Experience in application and understanding of behavioural support plans
  • Experience working as part of a large team comprised by different professionals.
  • Familiarity and experience with CARF standards and process of accreditation.
  • Class 5 Drivers Licence
